Seen through the eyes and adventures of Gabrielle Violette Clary, an illegitimate peasant born in the countryside of Lorraine, France, Violette matures on the streets of World War I Paris. Dubious connections recruite her to work for the French Chief of the Fifth Bureau as a double agent during the war.
Her work leads her to a German Naval Intelligence officer who is both repulsive and attractive to Violette. Watch as she fights her own inner demons, wonder if she’ll trade loyalties and hope that she can maintain her cover and her life.
Sainte-Eve weaves a tale of vivid characters who’s lives connect in mysterious and seemingly coincidental ways brought about by the ravages of war.

Adrianne Sainte-Eve was born in Budapest Hungary and spent her childhood in Quebec, Regina, Saskatchewan, and Vancouver, B.C. in Canada. She is a graduate of the ARt Institue of Chicago and Northern Illinois University and currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.
